If you are a translator or are concerned about the lack of books translated into English each year, then you will be interested in this event! A\u00a0European Literature Day focusing on translation is being held as part of the UK’s Children’s Bookshow<\/a>, sub-titled\u00a0‘Not just found but out there in Translation’. \u00a0It’s sure to raise lots of interesting discussion. 3.30 – 4.30pm \u00a0 \u00a0A panel discussion on publicity and marketing<\/strong> followed by questions from the\u00a0audience. Panel members will include David Fickling<\/strong>, publisher at David Fickling Books<\/a>, who\u00a0published the best-selling The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time<\/em>; Julian Evans<\/strong><\/a>, writer,\u00a0journalist and broadcaster whose work includes The Romantic Road: A Journey Through the\u00a0<\/em>Literatures of Europe<\/em> for BBC Radio 3, and a new translation of Andr\u00e9 Gide\u2019s The Vatican\u00a0<\/em>Cellars<\/em>. His latest book is Semi Invisible Man: The Life of Norman Lewis<\/em>. They will be joined by\u00a0Catherine Bruzzone<\/strong><\/a>, publisher at b small publishing<\/a>; Sasha Dugdale<\/a><\/strong>, editor of Modern Poetry in<\/a>\u00a0Translation<\/a><\/em>; and Daniel Hahn<\/strong><\/a>, award-winning writer and translator, whose translation of The Book\u00a0<\/em>of Chameleons<\/em> by Jos\u00e9 Eduardo Agualusa won the Independent Foreign Fiction Prize.<\/p>\n

Panel members\u00a0will include former literary editor of The Independent and force behind The Independent Foreign\u00a0Fiction Prize, Boyd Tonkin<\/strong><\/a>; a representative from the Czech Embassy and Director at the Czech Centre in Lonodn, Tereza Porybna<\/strong>; Nicola<\/strong>
